How To Make Sautéed Carrots

First you’ll want to prep your carrots. If you are using baby carrots, go ahead and slice them up. You want relatively thin slices.

If you’re using regular-sized carrots, first chop off the ends and then peel them. Next, chop into slices.

Heat a skillet at high heat and add carrots and oil (if desired). Once the pan is heated up and the oil is sizzling, turn the heat down to medium high.

Cook the carrot slices until softened, stirring every minute. This process will take about 15-20 minutes.

Now it’s time to add the seasonings: salt, pepper, cinnamon, and honey. Feel free to substitute in any seasonings you prefer. Stir the carrots to coat them in the ingredients.

Once carrots are done cooking and are fully seasoned, turn off the heat. Using a spatula, move carrots from skillet to a serving plate or bowl.

Cooking Tips

  • You may use olive or vegetable to cook the carrots. If using a nonstick pan, the oil is just to add flavor to the carrots.
  • If the carrots brown too much while cooking, you can turn the heat down to medium so the middle of the carrots has a chance to soften.
  • Be sure to stir carrots every minute or so while they cook. This ensures even cooking and prevents burning.
