🕹️🎨 My journey, exploring the world of cute and colorful games! 🚀✨ Recently, I delved deep into Unity, seeking to learn its advanced tools to create an enchanting demo. 🎮🌈 The idea was to explore the process of implementing 2D assets and challenge myself by creating all the basic artwork needed to bring the project to life, while also having fun with the experience. 😄 Each step was an exhilarating discovery! From planning the mechanics to conceiving the adorable characters, and of course, the environments (where I also took the opportunity to learn a bit of Blender!), I felt like a true adventurer on an epic journey. 💡🎉 Learning by doing truly turned the whole process into something magical and incredibly exciting! During the creation, I had to face challenges and solve problems, which led me to dive even deeper into the resources and possibilities of Unity. Along with hours of reading and watching tutorial videos, I also had the help of incredibly talented and amazing people who assisted me, clarified many doubts, and even lent me some of their superpowers! I want to thank my brother and best friend João Vitor Alves Silva, who helped me navigate the world of coding to make everything work as it should! 🖥 Also, special thanks to the music maestro Matheus Polati, who created a unique soundtrack for this fun project! 🎷🎵 How cool is that? And to the wonderful Pedro Paulo Santos Ferreira de Paula, who gave me a lesson in VFX 💥 , and Felippe Lopes, who gave me a hand with SFX. 🧠💪 The journey wasn't easy, hahahah, but the feeling of seeing my efforts come to life before my eyes was simply indescribable! ❤️✨ I hope this demo inspires other enthusiasts and developers to embark on this exciting universe of games. 🌟🚀 Believe me, there's no limit to creativity and learning on this journey! Let's continue together, creating and exploring new horizons in the world of games! 🚀🎮Artstation ➡ https://lnkd.in/dSf7Sr-z #GameDev #Unity #Gamedesign #Creativity #LearningByDoing #ConceptArtist #Blender"

Hi everyone! For the upcoming networking jam from the Indie Game Academy in January: https://lnkd.in/eRQh9MpY, our small team, Aezephel, need you! We are three artists who are currently working on a small visual novel and we aim to hone our motivation with this jam. Two of us already experienced a first Game Jam so we have an idea of the challenge ahead of us. We were part of the Elysium Team for Helios Betrayal: https://lnkd.in/ecRdgjyy (Beware that you will need a controller to test it and that we didn’t have the time to balance the last two levels)Who are we?• Ennrael. Team Leader, Narrative Designer, 3D artist. A cat who loves stories, organizing things and finding solutions to problems. Portfolio: https://www.aezephel.net/• Shinza, Game/Narrative Designer, Unreal Engine Developer (beginner). Student in Video Games. Loves dark stories or those with a lot of symbolism inside. Portfolio : https://lnkd.in/eRKGDxzN (not up to date at all, I'll try to fix it in the next weeks)• Solaki, 2D artist. An illustrator and graphic designer who loves everything to do with galaxies and fantasy ! Porfolio (or rather the social media) : https://lnkd.in/eX8tAgjZFor this Jam, we're interested in developing a game with minimalist, easy-to-manage 3D graphics, we already have an additional 3D artist who joined us from another post: https://lnkd.in/ePt_3VBGWe are still seeking another Unreal Engine Developer who possesses a more solid and competent understanding of said engine so that Shinza can assist him/her/them.What is our style? We generally gravitate towards mature and serious themes in our projects. Our passion lies in crafting intricate universes infused with elements of magical realism, blending wonder with various genres like horror, fantasy, or science fiction. This complex yet wondrous approach is what defines our creative direction. If that’s your style too or if you know someone who can fit in, we would love to have your help :)

🚀✨ "What if you could turn your childhood dreams into reality? 🎮From a young age, I was captivated by the power of creation. The world was my canvas, and I transformed blank pages into works of art. But it was when I first booted up a demo game on my father's computer that everything changed. As the pixelated landscape unfurled on the screen, I was transported into a thrilling adventure. Questions swirled in my mind: 'What if I could do this? What if I could add this to the game?' That curiosity sparked my passion for game development. From sketching Dragon Ball Z characters to diving into the immersive narratives of God of War and Uncharted, I realized I didn't want to just consume games—I wanted to create them. The fusion of art and technology became my muse, and digital art and 3D software opened new realms of possibilities.I delved deeper, learning and experimenting with tools like Unity. I discovered that game development was more than a challenge—it was a puzzle that required a perfect blend of creativity and technical acuity. But with every obstacle I overcame, I grew as a developer, a storyteller, an artist. Now, as I trade sleep for late nights spent debugging code and trade my time and effort to create something new, I know that it's all worth it. I'm crafting games that impact lives, inspire imagination, and offer an escape into another world. And the best part? Game development is a lifelong passion, an evolving journey filled with endless possibilities.Join me on this extraordinary adventure, where 'greatness from small beginnings' comes to life. Let's turn dreams into reality, one line of code at a time. Together, we'll create immersive worlds where imagination reigns supreme and stories unfold. Dare to ask yourself, 'What if?' and embark on a remarkable journey into the realm of game development.#GameDeveloper #PassionIntoProfession #DreamsToReality #ImaginationUnleashed" #unity https://lnkd.in/ewswfbmH

Slow but steady progress.A little update on the game I last shared. I've added jumping, more animations, particles, some obstacles to avoid, and game state to allow a game over screen. I'm quickly learning that like many of my other projects, these features are much more involved to add than I'd anticipated. The engine that I'm using (Pico 8) doesn't include many of the built in features you get from other engines I've tried. Instead of having built in tools for animation trees, particles, collisions, etc, it all has to be built from scratch with code. That becomes even more challenging when trying to keep the code as clean as possible.Overall, I'm excited by the challenge, and I have a much greater appreciation for the games I play. When you get in the weeds and try to build it yourself, you begin to understand how much time and effort goes into creating what you would've assumed is the simplest of games or mechanics.

Who is Hovanets? 👒I didn’t know either until joined Gamedev Camp as a Game Design mentor and met an amazing 4more team. They are making point-and-click adventure about Carpathian mythology for PC on Unity. Hovanets is the main character and a kind of brownie (don’t mess it with cookie) in Eastern European Legends. Born in the roots, he faces a towering mystery: who is he, and why the Big Tree was left? To save the day, Hovanets must go through the entire adventure, breathing life back into this forest realm and discovering the truth about his own leafy origins.💪This story was impossible without 4more team:- Natalya Chernobryvets, 2D Artist / Concept Artist, who speaks 5 languages and does yoga- Kateryna B., a perfect and hardworking 3D Environment Artist / Character Artist- Kateryna Shchotkina, Game Designer / Narrative Designer, besides writing books and articles- Nazar Pinonzhyk, Unity Programmer / C# Developer, his first developed game was MMORPGDo you play indie games? Have favorite ones?P.S. Follow guys, put likes, make comments for supporting them, and cutie Hovanets 💙#gameindustry #gamedevcamp #gamedev #indie #indiedev
